Nature-based and bio-based solutions for geohazard mitigation on slopes and streambanks

OUR SESSION EGU24

OUR SESSION EGU24 Nature-based and bio-based solutions for geohazard mitigation on slopes and streambanks

Last April we were present as conveners in an EGU session dedicated to Soil and Water Bioengineering , among other NBS With more than twenty-five abstracts presented to this session between oral and poster presentations we had a very interesting, and participative meeting, in which several presentations related to SWBE were shown.

-Willows root distribution on riverbanks through a descriptive approach(Solange Leblois , Guillaume Piton , and André Evette-Université de Grenoble-Inrae) ,

Impact of shrubby willows on seepage lines of flood protection dykes (Helene Mueller, Elias Ferchl, Manuel Sokopp, and Hans Peter Rauch Boku) ,

Soil and Water Bio Engineering (SWBE) techniques effects on Biodiversity, in Tuscany (Italy)(Emanuele Giachi Federico Preti, Martina Pollastrini, Marco Cabrucci, Carlo Viti, Agnese Bellabarba, Francesca Decorosi and Andrea Dani University of Florence, DAGRI, Firenze, Italy)

Which willows for Soil and Water Bioengineering structures on high-elevation streambank? Ex situ study of cutting capacity of three shrub species

(Juliette Rousset, Sarah Menoli, Adeline François, and André Evette, Université de Grenoble , Inrae)

In the evening we had a very lively meeting at the Geo Verde offices, with a nice aftersession dinner.

The session has been organized byAlessandro Fraccica, Vittoria Capobianco, André Evette, Paola Sangalli, Stephan Hörbinger
