Blau-grüne Infrastruktur

Dienstag 25 juni 2024

The increasing number of hot days, periods of drought, and more frequent heavy rainfall events make it clear that climate protection and adaptation
are among the greatest challenges of our time. The combination of “blue” components such as ponds, streams, and rainwater management systems
with “green” elements such as parks, gardens, green roofs, and facades – the so-called blue-green infrastructure – can make a significant contribution to
sustainable urban development by preventing flooding, improving air quality and reducing heat islands.

The ÖWAV is addressing this important topic in a one-day, interdisciplinary seminar. In three blocks, the challenges, solutions, and ideas for cities and
rural settlement areas will be discussed and a look will be taken across borders.
